In the new age of data, data has become the world’s most valuable asset that we know of. In a world where more than 2.5 trillion bytes of data are created per day, notarizing data and guaranteeing its accuracy becomes a matter of life and death for many processes. Thanks to Blockchain technology, we can register and verify the content of any type of information at no cost in a few seconds.

What is document notarization and what is it for?

Document notarization is a process that consists of identifying and retaining the content of any document, information or set of data that we want to protect and generating a unique fingerprint that identifies them to guarantee their integrity. Any change in its content, even a single byte, will generate a completely different fingerprint from the previous one.

Thanks to this cryptographic process, we can register the content of this fingerprint in the blockchain to guarantee its immutability over time, its historical record and its accessibility at any time in a public way. In addition, any person or external actor will be able, given a content, to generate the same fingerprint and verify that the document is indeed valid, has been issued by whoever it should, has not been modified at any time and its information has not been compromised.

Currently, document notarization uses several more layers of cryptography that not only allow these operations to be carried out, but also share content can be generated in different multi-signature accounts, which enables part of this content to be updated safely as well as being able to transfer ownership and proof of ownership on the same content, opening up a whole new world of possibilities.

Benefits of document notarization

01

Immutable. The content registered in the blockchain cannot be modified by any actor under any circumstances, which will guarantee its integrity.

02

Cryptographic security. The notarized information will generate a cryptographic hash fingerprint that will fully secure its content. No type of computation will be able to obtain the original information from its cryptographic fingerprint.

03

Thanks to the decentralized blockchain infrastructure, no actor will be able to take the notarization or availability of the platform out of service since it can be sustained with a single node in operation.

04

Universally verifiable, thanks to the cryptographic evidence generated and publicly registered, everyone can verify its veracity and authenticity at any time.

05

Proof of ownership, will allow to demonstrate the ownership and possession of a documentation as well as the date of registration of the same mathematically, and in a transparent way.

06

Mathematically certified, the document notarization system allows consulting the issuing and verifying entity of any documentation or data, guaranteeing its validity and support.

Data notarization service

At Peersyst we are experts in the notarization of files and data thanks to the use of Blockchain technology, having enormous success stories and reputation in this use case with great adoption. Thanks to the knowledge in the notarization algorithm, we can add and customize the core of the notarization system so that it fully adapts to any organization or company, ensuring the integrity of your information without changing any process.

Notarization of Academic certificates

Document notarization is the ideal way to generate a secure, reliable, authentic and verifiable online certificate for anyone. Thanks to the cryptography and immutability of the blockchain registry, we can verify that the issuance was made by an official entity, on what date it was made and the authenticity of the document with all the guarantees that it could not be modified or falsified.

Characteristics of the notarization of academic certificates

Universally verifiable

Once registered in a public blockchain, any actor will be able, just by scanning a QR code or visiting a web link to verify the issuance, date, content and veracity of the information.

Secure

The information is registered under the most advanced layers of cryptography so the security of the content is mathematically guaranteed. No one will be able to hack or alter the information at the software level.

Immutable

The information will be stored in the blockchain in an immutable way by definition and infrastructure of the registry. This means that it can never be hacked or modified at the network level and that the information will remain intact.

Accessible

All the information registered in the public blockchain will remain accessible even if only a single active node remains. This guarantees an up-time of close to 100% of the information that will remain available throughout history.

Property title register

One of the most valuable use cases of document notarization is the validation and registration of property titles, be it land, homes or belongings. Registering property titles through a notarized blockchain system allows you to verify its issuer, its authenticity, creates a permanent historical record of validity on the title and makes it resistant to any type of corruption, manipulation or misappropriation of data. Now the owner is able to maintain and have control of his property registry by himself thanks to the decentralized registry. In addition, it allows the transfer of said titles through multi-signature accounts to new owners and maintains a verifiable history of the asset.

File Securing

File security is another key use case for document and data notarization. Ensuring the integrity of the information becomes a key concept when using such documentation to enforce laws, make very delicate decisions or establish long-term contracts. In these cases the notarization of documents plays a vital role since it allows to save information in an unalterable and lasting way in the time that it is stored decentrally and in a neutral field. In this way, given a specific and critical circumstance, we can carry out a simple check and have all the guarantees that the content we have is exactly the same as that established at a given time

Digital notary

The digital notary basically consists of the basis and raison d’être of the document notarization software itself. It allows to give proof and faith, at a specific moment, of the content of a document, of an owner and / or a reviewer of the information and a validation of the same. This information is stored in a lasting and secure way, guaranteeing at all times its immutability and integrity throughout history, with the aim of having a reliable and exclusive record of information for delicate procedures that any organization has to manage.
